Yes, as long as it does not contain any meat or nuts. Make sure to read labels to ensure there are no nut by-products in anything you are bringing in.
When exiting the escalators going to the 7th floor, turn right, then right again into the hallway before the glass doors. Turn right at the freight elevators, and our kitchen will be at the end of the hallway.
We require volunteers to wear closed-toe shoes and a shirt with sleeves (ie. no tank tops)! We provide clean head coverings like hats and bandanas, but feel free to wear your own. You will be asked to remove your jewelry while working in the kitchen.
You can find all the volunteer guidelines here.
Absolutely! Please visit here for more information.
As a volunteer, you get to skip the line, take home extra food, and get access to snacks and beverages while you're volunteering - not to mention meeting cool people!
Every two Fridays, we hold a food bank. While we do need a few volunteers, please ask one of the collective members in the kitchen about coming to volunteer on those days.
We do not expect our volunteers to come on a regular basis. The only requirement is that when you do come volunteer, you stay for a minimum of 30 minutes.
From 12:30pm to 1:30pm, you will be asked to help with serving food to the line.
From 2pm onwards you will be asked to help us clean up the kitchen space by sweeping, cleaning surfaces or mopping. At ALL TIMES, there will be Collective members on site who will help direct you with these tasks.
From 9am to 12pm, you will be asked to assist with the preparation of vegetables and other produce.
There is no need to sign up to volunteer with us! You can simply come by our kitchen during our opening hours and we will show you the ropes.
